Diethyl Carbonate (DEC)

Diethyl carbonate (DEC) is used alongside DMC and EMC as a co-solvent in lithium-ion battery electrolyte formulations. Its higher boiling point (126°C) than DMC improves electrolyte thermal stability and extends the operating temperature range of Li-ion cells.
