Ethyl methyl carbonate (EMC) is the third component of the standard EC/DMC/EMC (1:1:1 v/v) Li-ion battery electrolyte. Its intermediate properties between DMC and DEC improve low-temperature ionic conductivity and extend usable temperature range to -20°C and below.
